MOON GREY - SPLIT EDGES

Las piezas que os mostramos hoy tienen como particularidad un acabado que no os habíamos mostrado hasta el momento. Los cantos son escarfilados, una técnica que empieza dando más grosor del establecido a la pieza para que luego el operario pique la piedra con un tipo de cincel especial para cortar este material. El grosor extra que se deja es de 0,5 cm a 3 cm, dependiendo de las medidas, y se golpea la piedra en una línea y con la medida exacta hasta obtener el relieve y el grosor deseado.

En las fotos se muestra el proceso, el cual es siempre manual, y el resultado final. Una técnica que da un toque distinto a nuestra piedra, en este caso la caliza Moon Grey, y que últimamente está siendo muy demandada.

The pieces that we show today have a finish that we have not introduced yet as a particularity. The edges are split, a technic that starts giving more thickness than the established to the piece for the operator to beat the stone with a sort of chisel which is special to cut this material. The extra width that is leave is from 0,5 cm to 3 cm, depending on the sizes, and the stone is crushed in a line and with an exact measure to get the planned relief and thickness.

The pictures show the process, which is always manual, and the final result. A technic which gives a different touch to our stone (the limestone Moon Grey here) and it is being really requested.
