Hoy os queremos hablar de un
trabajo muy especial, tanto por el material con el que está hecho como por la
obra de la que forma parte. Se trata de unas molduras hechas con piedra
Montjuïc para la reforma de un emblemático edificio. Éste se encuentra en pleno
Paseo de Gracia de Barcelona y es del estilo modernista que caracteriza la
zona.
Como el nombre indica, la Piedra
Montjuïc procede de la montaña Barcelonesa y está muy arraigada en la ciudad,
ya que fue muy utilizada hasta mediados del siglo XX. De hecho, fue utilizada
para importantes edificios como el Palau de la Generalitat de Catalunya, la Iglesia
de Santa Maria del Mar o la Pedrera de Gaudí. Es por ello, que todavía se
recurre mucho a ella para rehabilitaciones como la que hemos llevado a cabo.
Today we would like to
tell you about a special work, because of the material used and the building in
which it belongs. They are moldings made of Montjuïc Stone for the restoration
of an emblematic building, which is located right on Passeig de Gràcia in
Barcelona and it has an Art Nouveau style, as well as most constructions in the
area.
As its name suggests,
the Montjuïc Stone comes from this Barcelona’s Mountain and it is very rooted
in the city, as it was widely used until the middle of the 20th
century. In fact, we can find Montjuïc Stone in important buildings such as
Palau de la Generalitat, Santa Maria del Mar Church or La Pedrera by Gaudi. That
is why we still use it a lot for restorations like the one we have carried out.
En Mármoles Moratonas recibimos la piedra Montjuïc y la trabajamos en nuestro taller para conseguir las medidas y las formas requeridas. Os mostramos una foto del resultado final y esperamos tener pronto imágenes del edificio totalmente restaurado.
In Mármoles Moratonas, we received the Montjuïc Stone and we worked it in our factory to get the required sizes and shapes. We show you a picture of the result and we hope to have pictures of the building totally restored.
